Overeating & Weight Loss
Sometimes the strongest cravings for food happen when you are at your weakest point emotionally. You may turn to food for comfort (either
consciously or unconsciously) when you're facing a difficult problem, stress or just looking to keep yourself occupied.
Whatever emotions drive you to overeat, the end result is often the same. The emotions return, and may also now bear the additional burden of guilt about setting back your weight-loss goal. This can also lead to an unhealthy cycle. Your emotions trigger you to overeat, you beat yourself up for getting off your weight-loss track, you feel bad, and you overeat again.
I find that most people who come to me to lose weight have often been struggling for a long time to control their eating and weight, and have
tried following all sorts of different diets and/or exercise regimes without success. With hypnosis people can be helped to quickly break their
current associations with food and eating and to learn new habits, so that eating appropriately and being much more active becomes part of
who they are.
Occasionally the problem can be more complicated and may involve a repressed sub-conscious memory or life event. This is where Analytical
Hypnotherapy can search the sunconscious for the trigger and fix it. Age regression under Hypnosis can take someone back to a point in time where something may have happened or changed. This can often pinpoint the reason for the eating disorder and should enable it to be
easily fixed.
Whatever the cause, there needs to be a sincere desire for change. The aim is to remove the struggle and to change eating habits by
reprogramming the sub-conscious mind so that it feels more natural to at healthily and in the right proportions.
Hypnotherapy, unlike dieting, offers an effective long term solution that is likely to be permanently successful. Scientific studies suggest that most radical diets are pointless and can even be harmful. Diets only 'appear' to work, some better than others, but are not practical and sustainable. They rarely tackle the root cause of the problem – the mind.
So ditch the diets and the scales…simply be guided by how your clothes fit and feel and how your body feels.
